Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Jean Downing, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 11 AM at Word of Life Incorporated at 512 Telfair Street Dublin. Doctor Michael S. Parker will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Gloria Jean Downing was born on February 13, 1947, to the late Walter Lee Brown and Estelle Evans. She was employed by Ma' Hawkins Restaurant for over ten years, and was employed as a certified nursing assistant for seven years. She was a dedicated member of the Word of Life Incorporated Church, where her presence was always known. Mrs. Downing was always full of life, love to smile, and make those people that were around her laugh. She enjoyed cashews, peanuts, coffee, plain potato chips, and diet soda.

Mrs. Downing was preceded in death by her common-law husband, John Brown, Jr., a son Antonio Downing, one brother, Mr. Larry Brown, two grandsons, Mr. Antonio Brown, and Mr. Emmanuel Jordan, two great-grandchildren, My' Kiah Munn, and Ra'Sique Harmon, a father-in-law, Mr. John Brown, Sr., and a mother-in-law, Mrs. Magnolia Brown. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2019, in Dublin, at the age of 72.

Mrs. Downing is loved and will be remembered by her children, Detrenell Harris, Darius Downing, Magnolia (Cedric) Irwin, John (Gina) Downing, Gloria (Kendrick) Downing, Tomika (Scottie) Downing, 36 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
