Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Walker of Wrightsville will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 1 PM at the Ranger Grove Church of God In Christ on Ranger Grove Church Road in Wrightsville. Superintendent Ira Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow in the Scott Family Cemetery in Wrightsville.

Mrs. Walker, also known as “Mrs. Tipp”, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Wrightsville Manor Nursing Home, and was born on August 15, 1929, along with her twin brother, Eddie Scott, to the late Alex and Mae Will Scott in Wrightsville. She was one of twelve siblings, which included three sets of twins. Her twin brother preceded her in death in December of 1992.

On May 11, 1956, she married the love of her life, Mr. Lonzie Lee Walker and together they shared 52 years before his death on March 7, 2009. In these years, twelve children were born; six of whom preceded her in death. Loving memories of Mrs. Walker will forever be cherished by her family which includes four sons, Billy Walker, Sr., Grover Walker, Leroy Walker, Wayne Lee Walker, all of Wrightsville; two daughters, Emma J. Sullivan of Wrightsville, Sandra (Daniel) Gatewood of Douglasville; three step sons, Lorenzo (Emma) Josey, Allen Josey of Wrightsville, Ken Josey of Milledgeville; three sisters, Willie Mae Irvin, Geneva Bennett and Winnie Johnson of Wrightsville; one sister-in-law, Hula Mae Scott of Miami, Florida; close in-laws, Uncle Willie Clyde (Carolyn) Walker and Aunt Rosa Tucker of Dublin; fourteen grandchildren, three who she reared, Leca L. Rozier, Mickey (Matilda) Wright, both of Wrightsville, and Nicholas Rozier of Dublin; twenty-four great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, one special daughter-in-Christ, Mary Lee Outlaw, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 1146 Arline Chapel Road in Wrightsville and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, 6-7 pm.
