Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Mack Thomas, 77, of Montrose, will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Greater Union Grove Church of God in Christ, 4780 US Highway 80, Montrose. Bishop John Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eason Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 2022 Eason Hill Church Road, Montrose.

Mrs. Thomas was born March 8, 1937 in Laurens County, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. She was the first child born to the late William Mack and the late Pearlie Allen Mack. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Greater Union Grove Church of God in Christ.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her son, Danny Thomas; two sisters, Nina Holloway and Katherine Higgins; five brothers, William Mack, Argene Mack, Roosevelt Mack, Ira Lee Mack and Robert Thomas.

Survivors include: Shirley (Rev. James) Brown, L. C. (Annie) Thomas, Bobby C. (Ruby) Thomas, Shelia Michelle (Charlie) Brown all of Montrose and Bobbie G. Thomas of Atlanta; Serena Thomas, Camonica Thomas and Latisha Thomas all of Dublin; and a very special friend, Homer Farley of Gray; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lallie (T. Wesley) Watkins and Jessie Turner all of Montrose; one brother, Bob (Bertha) Smith of Bradenton, FL; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Mack and Hazel Thomas both of Montrose; two brothers-in-law, T. Wesley Watkins of Montrose and Samuel Higgins of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.

Mrs. Thomas will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at the family residence, 4875 US Highway 80 West, Montrose.
