On Friday evening, September 12, 2014, Gisela passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side. She had been under hospice care at her daughter's home in Brandywine, MD. She was 62 years old. Cause of death was cancer. She was born in Hempstead, NY to Christopher J. Neubert (deceased) and Gisela Emilie Neubert. She grew up with the many moves that military families grow accustomed to finally settling in Northern Virginia. She worked for many years as an account clerk for Fairfax County Public Schools. After that she became a private care aide for 23 years. It is in this that she was happiest while helping others with their daily needs. Her clients speak of how she was always so thoughtful and caring. She is survived by her mother, brother Christopher Neubert, daughters Brenda and Kimberly, and three grandchildren. A Celebration of Her Life will be hosted by Eastern Star Chapter on October 12, 2014 at Occuquan Lodge 310, 13315 Woodbridge St., Woodbridge, VA 22191.
