Gerald Prosise

Raymond Gerald Prosise, 83, of Eden went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 22, 2015. Service is 2 p.m. Sunday, October 25 2015 at Eden Funeral Home chapel followed by burial in Eden Cemetery.

Gerald resided in Eden for most of his life and was involved within the community a great deal. He was part of the Eden Volunteer Fire Department, even served a term of Fire Chief and was a member of the Hill Country Fireman Association. Gerald was part of the first ambulance service in Eden as an EMT, served as a Municipal Judge and City Manager. He was an accomplished carpenter as well building several homes.

Gerald is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Rankin Prosise in 1987; his parents, Issac Henry and Olive Branch Prosise; and eight of ten siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Prosise of Eden; four sons, Ronald Prosise and wife, Carmen of Abilene, Gerald Dewain Young and wife, Vicki of Glen Rose, Eddie Prosise and wife, Candy of Odessa and Byron Prosise and wife, Amanda of Round Rock; two daughters, Carolyn Ann Prosise of Eden and Brenda Kaye Prosise Cochran and husband, Carlton of Menard; three step-sons, Michael Shane Capps of Anton, Steven Wayne Capps and wife, Margaret of Eden and Shannon Brent Capps and wife, Yolanda of Eden; one step-daughter, Derinda Rodgers and husband, Mario of Eden; one brother, Jefferson Davis Prosise of Grants Pass, OR; one sister, Shirley McIntosh of Llano; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great grandchildren.
