George Worthen

Funeral services for Mr. George Anthony "Tony" Worthen, of Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 2 PM at the Stewart Chapel Church, 2659 Stewart Chapel Church Road in Rentz. Reverend Eugene Dawson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Worthen, who passed on February 11, 2016, was born on January 22, 1953, to the late Mr. George and Mrs. Rosetta Chappell Worthen.

At an early age, he joined the Nazarene Baptist Church. He attended and graduated from the public schools of Detroit and furthered his education at Ferris State University. He worked at various jobs but he particularly enjoyed working as an auditor with the State of Michigan. He was a member of several civic organizations.

Mr. Worthen relocated to Georgia and worshiped with the Stewart Chapel Baptist Church and other local churches.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sons,Gerard Worthen of Michigan, Germain Worthen of Florida, and Geoffery Wren of North Carolina; sister, Carol A. Worthen Williams; brother, Paul Worthen both of Michigan; granddaughter, Shylymn; devoted nephew, Rolmel Robinson; great niece, Ava, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
