Gary Sullivan Fletcher, Sr. 78, of Gastonia, N.C. passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church in York, S.C. with Pastor Billy Lingerfelt
officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 on Friday at the church. Burial will be 2PM, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in St. Pauls, N.C.
Gary was born June 26, 1942 in Putnam County, W.V. to the late Homer Fletcher and Virginia Smith Fletcher.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in York, SC and was married to the late Jean Davis Fletcher. Gary was an electrical manager at Bojangles Coliseum and served in the United States Army.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Deloris Jean Fletcher, Rhonda Kay Lingerfelt (Billy), son, Gary Sullivan Fletcher, Jr., brothers, Jimmy Fletcher (Joann), Charles Fletcher (Amy), sisters, Joyce Reynolds, Kathy Chapman (Clem), Sue Hughes (Tom), 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother Ralph Edward Fletcher and sister, Ola Fletcher.
