Garrart Hawkins

Funeral services for Mr. Garrart "Fish" Hawkins, of Wrightsville, will be held at 1 PM on Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Antioch Baptist Church, 133 East Tribly Street in Wrightsville. Reverend Norman Robert, Jr., will officiate. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery.

Mr. Hawkins, who passed on May 27, 2016, was born on April 5, 1958, to the late Sammie and Emmie Hawkins, Sr. in Johnson County. He was preceded in death by one brother, Rev. Sammie Lee Hawkins, Jr.

Mr. Hawkins became a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He also dedicated his life to Christ. His love for music was evident as he endowed others with the heavenly sound of his voice. He left home and moved to Atlanta in his early 20's where he became a manager at Ms. Winners. He later became part of Rhodes Furniture transitional team where they opened up several stores throughout the metro Atlanta area and then became a merchant independent contractor for that company. He later branched off with a friend to start his own company, H&H Logistics Services.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Hawkins, Athens, Trevor Hawkins, Marietta; one brother, Randell Hawkins, Marietta; four sisters, Marilyn Hawkins, Barbara Hawkins, Wrightsville, Debra (Michael) Craig, Charlotte, North Carolina, Reneida (Jason) Williams, Forsyth; sister-in-law, Laticha Hawkins, Talbotton; six aunts, Doretha Brint, Grace Brint, Eula Brint and Dessie Wright, all of Wrightsville, Zadie Hawkins, Jonesboro, Mae Hawkins, Dublin; two uncles, Harvey Brint, Macon, Richard Brint, Wrightsville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 18 East Tribly Street in Wrightsville.
