Francis Green Harrisburg - Mrs. Green died peacefully during sleep in Harrisburg, NC on August 31, 2012. She was is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oscar Green, her sister Patricia Buckwell, and Six of her children. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Francis was born in Saltville V.A. on October 14th, 1925, and moved to Harrisburg to live with her Daughter in 2005. She was a dedicated and loving Mother but her real joy and passion in life was her devotion to God, time spent with friends and coworkers sharing times filled with love and laughter. This past year has seen her particularly blessed and filled with happy events. Finding joy and pride in seeing her family around her seeing her grandchildren. She also loved her great-granddaughter Emily very much. The two, despite Emily’s young age, held a very special bond. She lived a life in its fullest measure and will be deeply missed by all that touched her life. Visitation will be on Monday from 6-8 pm in Southern Pines, N.C... Services will be at 11 am Thursday In Saltville V.A., with burial at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
