Born on May 11, 1925, in Laurens County, Georgia, Mrs. English was the ninth child of the late Louis and Louiza Moore Blackshear. On January 30, 1943, she married David "Flam" English, and to this union, nine children were born. She was a member of the Union Grove Church of God In Christ family where she served faithfully before uniting with her extended family at Laurens Hill Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board until her health began to decline. Memories will be shared by so many, who called her "Ma Frances", who enjoyed her many delicious meals, wonderful cakes, pork skins, old fashioned tea cakes, vegetable and flower gardens and quilts she made for her children and grandchildren, and those close to her, and by the neighborhood children she nurtured who will remember the wisdom she imparted that will be passed down to generations to come.
She leaves a legacy of much love to be remembered and cherished by four daughters, Francina Peterson of Austell, Josephine Surry of Conley, Mary L. Clover of East Dublin, and Dollie English of Dublin, two sons, Deacon Nesbert (Rosa) English of Dudley, and Minister Ira (Linenell) English of Jonesboro, two devoted daughters-in-law Rose E.
