Funeral Services for Mrs. Florine Perry, of Ellenwood, will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1601 South Popular Springs Church Road in Dublin.Reverend Dr. Willie Edmond will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Florine Elizabeth Perry was born on April 10, 1920, to the late "Buster" and Bertha Wilson in Dublin. Florine was born as second oldest of seven siblings, Alfred Evans, Maude Wilson, Arie Mae Butler, Marie "Bob" Rozier, Bertha Smith, and Richard Wilson, who have all preceded her in death: Mrs. Perry was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. She was a graduate of Washington Street High School,. Immediately following high school, Mrs. Perry became a grade school teacher in Laurens County. Later she began serving as a clerk for Lovett & Tharpe. for over 25 years and later retired from her faithful service with this company. Because of her love of service, she continued working as an independent clerk for Wabash Grocery Store in Dublin and then retired a second time. Upon her 2nd retirement she began serving full-time in Ministry in several capacities at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.including Usher, Director of the Junior Youth Usher Board, Assistant Church Clerk, Church Announcer, and President for W.M.B.S. Missionary Society. She was later elected "Mother of the Church" and continued to share her love, wisdom, and encouragement throughout the community. Whatever work Mrs. Perry's hands touched, she completed the task with great joy and enthusiasm.

Mrs. Perry married the love of her life, Mr. James A. Perry on December 14, 1942 in Dublin. After marriage, they moved to Geneva, New York where Florine lived until James returned from Military Service. Later, after the couple returned to Dublin their union was blessed with one daughter and two granddaughters. Florine Perry accepted the Lord, Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She served alongside her husband as faithful members of Mount Calvary Baptist Church for many years.

In 2004, Mrs. Perry moved to Ellenwood to reside with her daughter and granddaughters. In 2012, Mrs. Perry became ill and entered The Jonesboro Nursing Rehabilitation Center as a resident. She enjoyed her time there and was loved by the nursing staff and residents. She also enjoyed receiving visits from family and friends, near and far. On December 1, 2014, Mrs. Perry peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord at 94 years young. Today we celebrate her Life..."A Life Well Lived!"

Mrs. Perry leaves to mourn her passing: One Daughter - Cornelia Ann Dolphus of Ellenwood; two granddaughters - Domonique Miche' Dolphus and Ebony Jamese Dolphus of Ellenwood; one brother-in-law - Memphis (Alfreda) Perry of Augusta; and one sister-in-law - Catherine Grubbs of Hartford, Connecticut. She also leaves to mourn: loving nieces: Marva (Ardis) Owens of Daytona Beach, Florida.; Thessalonian (Leonard) Bell of Flint, Michigan.; and Tonya Smith of Detroit, Michigan, (Vernita Edmond - Deceased), (Pauline Lamb - Deceased)/ loving nephews: Edward Wilson of Orlando, Florida.; Lorenzo Wilson of Daytona Beach, Florida.; James (Gina) White of Stone Mountain; Theotis (Betty) Rozier of Flint, Michigan.; Cleveland Smith of Detroit, Michigan.; Anthony (Niecy) Smith of Detroit, Michigan.; Jerome (Connie) Smith of Detroit, Michigan.; Michael (Caroyln) Jackson of Jacksonville, Florida.; (Clarence Smith - Deceased) (Eugene Smith - Deceased) (Christine Smith - Deceased) (Myrel Smith - Deceased). Mrs. Florine Perry also leaves to mourn a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, 7:30 - 8:30 PM.
