Steve Shivery was born and raised in Christiana. At the age of twelve, he started working for both Brown Funeral Homes. When Carl Brown retired in 1994, Steve was able to buy the Christiana funeral home from him. In 2007, Steve acquired the Paradise location from Lee Brown. The Shiverys live at the Christiana funeral home.
