The history of J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home began in 1856 when George H. Rigby established his business at 110 West State Street, where Kenny's Flower Shoppe in now located. His son, James N. Rigby moved the business to its current location 1939. It was difficult to say goodby to the old address because of the convenience of having the downtown trolley pass right in front of the funeral home but in the end, having a bigger building won out.
