The house that is now the Chidboy Funeral Home is considered to be the third oldest building in Curwensville and was the first to have indoor plumbing. Before being turned into a funeral home, it housed medical and dental practices, hosted several apartments, and was rumoured to have been part of the underground railroad. Chester C. Chidboy and his wife Martha Jane bought and remodeled the property then opened the funeral home in 1953. Their daughter Shelia and her husband Bill Williams now own and operate the business.
