Felton Smith

Funeral services for Mr. Felton Smith, of Wade, North Carolina, will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 12 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Mount Tilla Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was born on September 20, 1954, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Pearlena C. Smith and the late David H. Smith. He was educated in the Duval County Public School System where he graduated from the William M. Raines High School. Because of his compassion for all people, he served 20 years in the Army and was stationed in Georgia, Texas, Germany, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Fort Bragg. He retired in January of 2010 as Sergeant First Class Felton Smith. He transitioned into the arms of Jesus on October 6, 2017. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father, David H. Smith, Sr., by his brother, David H. Smith, Jr., and by his son, Martin Cason.

Because Mr. Smith was known for his kindness, generosity and love for all, his memories will be cherished by his wife, "PJ", mother, Pearlena C. Smith, daughter, Jerapon Coleman, brothers, Maurice (Avis) Smith, and Dewayne Smith, aunt, Letha Cooper, nephews, Marcus Smith and Ahmad Smith, nieces, Chalandra (Demetrius) Ellis and Denise Jones (Omani Hazell), cousins, Ray (Katrena) Cooper, Charles (Debbie) Cooper, Carolyn Flowers, Elesha Albertie, Billy Cooper, Betty (Robert) Hall, Robbie (Frank) Lattimore, and Sarah (Jimmy) Edwards, other cousins and family from Florida, Michigan, Georgia, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas, and special military comrades including James "J.C." Clark, Terrance Cores and Gregory K. Morrison, and a host of other friends.
