Funeral services for Mr. Felton “Short” Boston, 92, of Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 12 PM at the Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3265 Georgia 19 in Dublin. Reverend Daryl Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Boston was born on March 29, 1922, in Dublin, to the late William and Annie Fuqua Boston as the youngest of nine children.

Mr. Boston attended school in Dublin and accepted Christ at an early age. After moving to Miami, Florida, he continued to serve as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Trustee, Male Chorus and Choir member for numerous years at various churches. Mr. Boston also known as “Short” worked at C.A. Davis Construction Company as a master brick layer/ carpenter and later became the foremen of numerous job sites. He worked in this profession until he retired and returned to Dublin.

On August 8, 2014, the Lord called Felton Boston home to be with him. He was the father of thirteen children (six boys and seven girls) of which four, Sherline Boston Gordon, Melvin Boston, Kenneth Boston and Willie Braswell (step-son), preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories six daughters: Annie Lee (Robert) Harris of Miami, Florida, Mattie Mae Jones, Morristown, New Jersey, Pamela (James) Wilson of Macon, Georgia, Jeanell Boston, Verdell Boston, and Linda Boston all of Miami, Florida.; three sons: Alton Boston, Miami, Florida, Felton (Linda) Boston of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Kaven (Joyce) Boston of Powder Springs, Georgia, a sister-in-law, Neomia Boston of Dublin, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relative and friends.

Special thanks for love and support to Shirley Scott Wright (great-niece) and Anna Boston (niece), Billy, Melvin, Roger, Robert, David and James Boston (great-nephews), to the devoted staff at the Shamrock Rehabilitation Center, and to a dear friend Tammie Huynh at the Shamrock Rehabilitation Center.

The family is receiving friends at 102 Roberts Street in Dublin.
