Funeral services for Ms. Eunice Jean Miller Bell, 80, of East Dublin, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Rd, in East Dublin. Pastor Carlos Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Laurens Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Bell was born on November 21, 1937, in East Dublin, Georgia, to the late John Wesley and Latha Carter Norris. She joined New Bethel A.M.E. Church at an early age and served faithfully. Affectionately called by her children, grandchildren, other youth and young adults, “Mama and Big Mama” as she was a mother to all. Ms. Bell was employed with Georgia Plywood Co., G.C. Hawkins, Superior Laundry and Modern Dry Cleaners, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Shirt Factory Inc., Uniroyal Inc., and Forstmann and Company, Inc, where she retired.

At New Bethel AME Church, she was a very active member and class leader, choir member, founding member and leader of the Youth Development Program, community activist, life-long missionary member of New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church Women’s Missionary Society, later a member of Eastern District Women’s Missionary, Society of the Southwest Georgia Conference and the East Macon Women’s Missionary Society of the Macon Conference of the Georgia Sixth Episcopal District for until her health declined. Ms. Bell was a member of Seniors Are Living Treasure (SALT) Ministry, and regularly present in bible study at New Hope Baptist Church and at Williams Chapel Baptist Church. She mentored neighborhood children and was a foster parent to numerous youth and she adopted siblings to ensure they would grow up together.

Ms. Bell’s passions were sewing, cooking, walking, animals, and sharing flowers, vegetables and fruit from her trees. She adored traveling, especially her visits to Europe and California. Ms. Bell passed on January 11, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband and by her daughter, Janice Faye Miller. Ms. Bell is survived by one brother, John Wesley Norris, her children, Veatrice Patricia Ann (Jerry) Thomas, Dublin, Geraldine Miller Wells, East Dublin, Julius Wesley Miller, San Diego, California, Carroll Frederick (Sheila) Miller , Marietta, Jackie Allen Russell, East Dublin, Cynthia Miller (Louis) Bunch, Forest Park, Iradell Miller, Augusta, Arthur Pierce Bell, Dublin, Alexis Pierce Bell, Dublin, devoted goddaughters Cynthia Green (Carnell) Stanley, Montrose, Patricia Myricks (Michael) Little, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She will be placed in the church for viewing one hour prior to the service. The family will receive guests at 200 Marion Street, East Dublin.
