Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Gilbert, 85, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 1PM in the CD Dudley Memorial Chapel at Dudley Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Moorman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin. Mrs. Gilbert, who passed away on April 1, was born on April 8, 1926, in Laurens County, Georgia. She was born to the late, J. B. and Zilla Mae McKissick. She out lived her husband, James Gilbert, Sr. a son, James Gilbert, Jr. three sisters, Lizzie Pooler, Evelyn Hagan, Annie Mae Edwards four brothers, James, William, Jessie, Walter McKissick and a grandson, Greg Walker. Mrs. Gilbert is survived by her children, Alice Walker, East Dublin, Willie (Jean) McKissick, Miami, FL, sisters, Hattie Coley, New York, Nell Williams, Miami, FL, brother, Willie B. (Mamie) McKissick, New York, ten grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at 969 Pipen Lane in East Dublin.
