The family will receive friends at the church from 11 AM until the funeral hour. Reverend Torey Fountain will officiate, and Reverend Winfred McCloud will deliver the eulogy. Mrs. Holder was born on October 30, 1925, in Dublin, Georgia to the late Sol and Gussie Hughes Stuckey. She graduated from Washington Street High School, from Albany State University, and from the Master's Program at New York University. Mrs. Holder taught school at the T. J. Elder Elementary School in Sandersville, Georgia, at Washington Street Elementary, at Hillcrest Elementary, and at the District of Columbia, Washington, DC, from which she retired. In 1970, Miss Stuckey became Mrs. Holder after joining Mr. Dempsey Holder in Washington, DC, in holy matrimony.

Sandy Ford Missionary Baptist Church became her church at an early age, and remained so until her transition. During those years, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and served as Vacation Bible School Director. "Sister", as her siblings lovingly called her, always set an exemplary example of a Godly loving sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend for her family. Mrs. Holder passed away on August 13, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Holder, father and mother, Sol and Gussie Stuckey, brothers-in-law, Dorsey Cummings, Lavoizia Pearson, Woodrow Pendergrass, and by a special friend, Robert Brown, Sr.

Mrs. Holder is survived by three sisters, Ola Cummings of Flint, Michigan, Dorothy Pearson, and Ollie (Bryant) Smith, both of Dublin, a godsister, Jane Collins, and by a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, goddaughters, Rose Chappell, Solretta Pearson Barnes, and Nellesa Walthour. Sister will be truly missed from the family circle, and by all who were blessed to have known her.

The family is receiving friends at 3005 Moore Station Road, Dublin, and at the Sandy Ford Baptist Church on Monday, from 11 AM-12 PM.
