Funeral services for Mrs. Ernestine Whipple Fox, of Miami Gardens, Florida, will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the New Vision Missionary Baptist Church, 951 Field Street, Dudley. Pastor Horace Austin will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Born on May 19, 1938, in Dublin, Georgia, Mrs. Fox was the eldest child who became a true matriarch of her family. She was a graduate of Oconee High School in the Class of 1957. She moved to Miami, Florida in 1964, and later had a career at Landmark with the State of Florida, as a client care professional, where she retired after 30 years.

Her favorite pastime was fishing; she loved catching and feasting on fried fish. She was a gifted cook and was known for her delicious pound cakes. The latest model KitchenAid mixer could always be found in her kitchen. Her immense love of God and her faith was supported by her family at Jesus People Ministries International, where she had been a member since August 4, 1991. She was active in the music ministry and was a much loved loyal servant. Mrs. Fox passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Fox, her mother, Maudie Ree Henry, her father, Early Whipple, her brothers, Early Jr., James, and Willie James, and by her sisters, Shirley Pearl, and Jeraldine.

Mrs. Fox is survived by her only child, Ylonda Ray of Mableton, a stepson, Otis Dale Fox of Grenada, Mississippi, a brother, Willie Roy Whipple of Brunswick, her sisters, Jeraldine Whipple of Dothan, Alabama, Maudell (Ralph) Dixon, Barbara Henry (Osward Chipolo), Sharon (Pastor Horace) Austin of Dublin, Justine Tresvant of Denver, Colorado, Juanita (Lee) Baisden of Brunswick, Clara Jean Brown, Pamela (Tony) Adams of Atlanta, Vashi Whipple of Denver, Colorado, and an aunt, Willie Pearl Lanier of Dublin. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren, Toshia (her heart), Mordecai (her rock), Elisheva (her ray of sunshine) and Netanya (her princess); and her great-grands Dannah, Ariella, Naomi, Jared and Beyond. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws who loved, and who will miss her dearly.
