Eric Hill

Eric Hill, age 32 passed away peacefully in a medically induced coma with his family at his side April 23, 2014. On Sunday, April 20th, Eric was paragliding in Draper Utah at the point of the mountain, (famous for paragliding), when an accident occurred and Eric was swung into the mountainside.
Eric was first introduced to America when he became a contestant on the popular “Bachelorette” show in the 2014 season with Andi Dorphman. Chris Harrison, the host of that show dedicated this season to Eric as he died while the show was still filming. Chris called Eric “part of the Bachelorette family”. Just before he was introduced to America, we watched Eric climb out of the Limo looking very handsome and debonair! Women everywhere swooned at his charisma and dashing smile as he met Andi for the first time. We fell in love even more with Eric as he got the first date with Andi. From playing and building sandcastles on the beach to teaching Andi how to snow board on a snowy mountain all in the same day was the perfect date for the couple. Eric was very kind and gentleman like as he seemed to find joy in everything he did.
We soon learned that Eric had traveled all over the world and had a goal of visiting all 194 UN recognized countries. He loved adventure and the world loved him back. Eric was quoted in ”The Global Odyssey as saying, “In a world full of news that wants to scare you outside of anything outside your own border, I want to be the one telling everybody that even in the craziest places, awesome exists.”

After his death, his sister, Karen posted on her Facebook page, “Thank you to all of your love and support and prayers and fasting. It was amazing to be with so many of his friends and family yesterday in the hospital who came to express their love for Eric. He gave us such a gift of a life fully lived and fully shared, and allowed us all to be a part of his last adventure here on earth. It is hard to think of life without his bright spark, but we know he is on to new adventures. We look forward to carrying on his legacy here and greeting him joyfully again someday. I love you so much, little brother.”

Later Chris Harrison also tweeted, “On behalf of all of us at The Bachelor our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Eric Hill. He will be missed.”
Viewers and fans everywhere mourn with those who knew and loved him. God bless you Eric, our condolences go to your friends and family.
