Emma Lou Mincey
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Lou Wicker Mincey, of Adrian, will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 1 PM at the New Providence Baptist Church, 3127 Fountain Road in Cadwell. Pastor Edward Northcutt will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Adrian City Cemetery.
Mrs. Mincey, who passed on May 3, 2017, was on born on November 15, 1942, to the late Lester and Mabelle Wicker in Dublin. She attended Royal Chapel School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Mincey Jr.; son, Dennis Mincey; siblings, Jim L. Wicker, Lavarne Parker and brother-in-law, Freddie Mills.
She was a devoted house wife and mother. Mrs. Mincey accepted Christ into her life and became a member of New Providence Baptist Church. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, watching soap operas and riding around.
Mrs. Wicker is survived by her children, Denise (Lonnie) Wicker, Daniel (Ronnie) Mincey, Bernestine (Gary) Taylor, Danny (Tracy) Mincey, Bobby (Michelle) Mincey, all of Dublin, Billy (Sherry Ann) Mincey, Soperton; three brothers, Clayton (Martha) Wicker, W.L. (Adel) Wicker, Luther (Dessie Mae) Wicker; five sisters, Annette Mills, Johnnie Faye (Cecil) Wadley, Suzanne Harswell, Carolyn (Andy) Holliman, Diane (Evan) Pierce, twenty grandchildren whom she loved dearly, thirty great grandchildren she was proud of and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws other family and friends.
The family is receiving friends at 917 Retha Drive in East Dublin on Saturday, 6-7 pm.
