Emma Glover

Emma Feicht was born February 27, 1930 in Glonn, Germany. She grew up with three younger sisters. Times were hard, food was hard to get, so they went hungry during the war years. When she went to school she had to work long hours on farms to help her family survive. As an adult this continued. Emma met her future husband SSgt. Aaron M. Glover in 1954 in Montreal, Canada and was married August 20, 1960. Immediately after she followed her husband to Tokyo, Japan for four years. This was a happy time for the newly weds. Besides she went to Okinawa for three years. She arrived in San Bernardino, California in 1972 and fell in love with California. She and her husband moved to Highland in March 1973. She obtained a position at Norton Air Force Base and worked there for twenty years. She retired in 1994. Her health was poor and she had her first major stroke in April 1995. She had subsequent strokes over the following years. Until the last one in September 2010 that caused her to be placed in a skilled nursing facility. She had a "Green Thumb" . She loved gardening and planted flowers and she especially loved roses. She also planted fruit trees, vegetables and herbs. Her other love was travel after retirement. She took many extended trips to Europe. Emma passed away January 24, 2013. Emma loved her family and friends. We are all grateful she could spend this time with us knowing she lives eternally with our Savior. She is survived by; her loving husband Aaron M. Glover; her sisters Gertraud Friedl, Anneilse Mayer, and niece Petra Klaus, Sisters-in-laws Sarah G. Britton and Martha A. Glover. Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. with a funeral service beginning at 9:30 A.M.. Interment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 11:45 A.M. Staging Area 4. Sunset Funeral Care is handling the arrangements.
