Funeral Services for Mrs. Edeva Johnson, 81, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 AM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road, Dublin. Reverend David G. Flowers will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Edeva Johnson, the oldest of seven children, was born to the late Mary Johnson on January 20, 1934, in Dublin. By God's grace, Mrs. Johnson was welcomed through Heaven's gates on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Having dedicated her life to God, family, and service, Mrs. Johnson traveled from Georgia to New York, and back again to assure a better future for herself and her family.
Mrs. Johnson has been a faithful and devoted member of the Buckeye Baptist Church for several decades before she fell ill. She has always been devoted to service and helping others. You could always count on her if you needed any type of help. She was always available. Edeva was well loved by family and friends. She will truly be missed by many.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her only child, Minnie (Gary) Johnson; two grandchildren, Vickey Johnson, and Valerie Greene; two great-grandchildren, Tatiyana Richards, and Quentin Smith; four siblings, Lelia (Robert) Byre of Alabama, Lee (Lois) Wright of New York, T. C. Wright of New York, and Grady Lee (Ophelia) Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends at 322 McKinley Street, Dublin and on Friday, November 27 from 6-7 pm at the Dudley Funeral Home.
