Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Lee Carswell, Sr., 65, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11AM at the C D Dudley Memorial Chapel at Dudley Funeral Home. Pastor Lula Riley will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery, Dublin. Mr. Carswell, who passed away on March 26, 2012, was born August 5, 1946, to Tom and Eddie Mae Carswell and Leo Baums in Dudley. He confessed Christ at Millville Baptist Church at an early age, where he loved singing in the choir and singing with his sister. After attending Millville School, Mr. Carswell started Carswell Lawn Service enjoying outdoors was his passion and love! He was employed with GFF, and Inglehart before dedicating his time providing Lawn Care Service for Dudley Funeral Home. Mr. Carswell was preceded in death by his siblings, Armanell Rutledge, Mirium Coates, Marion Wiley, Andrew "Bob" Carswell, Mamie Powell, Vernency "Bae" Morris, Tommy Baums, Vennie ONeal and Leola Baums. After 20 years of courtship he married his best friend, Bernice Tucker on March 20, 2011. Their loved joined two families bringing forth six children, Mark (Kenya) Carswell, Petersbug, Virginia, Eddie "EL" (McKila) Carswell, Macon, Norman (Towynne) Tucker, Eastman, John (Traci) Tucker and Pamela Tucker, Dublin, Crystal (DeVaughn) Salter, Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by his mothers-in-law, Katie Mae Smith and June Ellen Lanier, brothers, Robert "RD" Carswell and Richard "Gus" Walker sisters, Martha Allen Xeox Johnson, Willie Williams, Lillie Bell Mitchell, Kathleen Stradan, Fannie Johnson in laws, JW Allen, Christine Walker, Tina Lanier, Shirley Lanier, Sara Lanier, Barbara Lanier, Kenneth (Mary) Lanier, Juanza Curtis, Roosevelt (Catherine) Robinson, Naomi (Jimmy) Perry, Havie (Emma) Smith, Toscanell (Stella) Smith, Robbie (Frank) Lattimore, Sarah (Jimmy) Edwards, Mark (Thelia) Smith, James (Lorraine) Smith and the mother of his children, Betty Smith Hall. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive will friends at 817 Central Avenue in Dublin.
