Earnest Darrisaw

Funeral services for Mr. Earnest Darrisaw, Sr. of East Dublin, will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2 PM at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 368 Bill Oliver Road in Wrightsville. Pastor Eldra Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Mr. Darrisaw, who passed on November 21, 2014, was born to the late Mr. Jessie Irvin and Mrs. Lizzie Hines Darrisaw and stepfather the late Attee Darrisaw, late Mary Bell Irvin, on September 2, 1947, in Johnson County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mr. Willie “Dock” Darrisaw.

He joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age. He became deacon on August 5, 2007. He attended Dock Kemp High School in Wrightsville. Mr. Darrisaw was employed at the Carl Vinson Medical Center in Dublin for 24 years until retirement. He worked as patient advisory council and as a dietician. Mr. Darrisaw was very dedicated to the church. He enjoyed working around the church. He also enjoyed helping people with yard work.

Mr. Darrisaw leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Mrs. Mamie Darrisaw of 42 years; two daughters, Leslie (Sammy) Daniels, Miranda Darrisaw, all of Dublin; granddaughter he raised as his own, Jefquandria Marion; five sons, Ronald Scott of Atlanta, Earnest Lee Darrisaw, Jr., Charles Darrisaw, Michael Darrisaw, Paul (Shermona) Darrisaw all of Dublin; mother-in-law, Adel Scott of Wrightsville; brothers, Willie James Darrisaw, Willie Clifford Darrisaw, Wilmer (Everlen) Carswello f Wrightsville; sisters, Ernestine (John) Cason, Willie Mae Stephens, Eva Mae Burnett, Gladyine Lewis, all of Wrightsville; brothers-in-law, Willie Scott, Melzie (Virginia) Scott, Jerome Scott all of Wrightsville, Winder (Joyce) Scott of Dublin; sisters-in-law, Minnie Daniels, Katherine Irvin, Shirley Scott, Annette (Shelton) Hall all of Wrightsville, Debra Darrisaw of Vaux Hall, New Jersey; aunt, Eva Mae Irvin of Wrightsville, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to include, Darrell Moorman, Jeffery Walker, Bobby Baker and Herbert Young, Jr.

The family will receive friends at 820 Wren Lane in East Dublin, and on Friday, 6-7 PM, at the Dudley Funeral Home.
