An avid deep sea fisherman, he also created many gifts in woodwork for friends and family. Duane’s family include his wife of 60 years, Lucy, his son, Mike and his wife Janice of Montgomery, his son Chuck and his wife, Melanie of Florence, his daughter, Laura, and her husband, John of Dothan, his son, Kenny of Daleville, grandchildren, Chris and Amanda Hagen, Josh Hagen, Paul Hagen, Brian Hagen, Jenna and Tyler Gresham, Justin and Emily Palmore and Elizabeth Hagen, great grandchildren, Emerson and Cameron Hagen and special feline friend, Buddy. Special thanks are given to the friends of the family who provided prayers, love and support during Duane’s brief illness and to the staff of Covenant Hospice. A celebration of his life will be held at Fort Mitchell in Columbus, Georgia on Tuesday, January 8th at 2:30 pm ET. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
