Druzy Little

Mrs. Little was born to the union of the late Dr. B.D. Perry and Mrs. Eliza J. Perry in Laurens County on September 6, 1923.
She was a graduate of Washington Street High School and of the Fort Valley State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in education.

Mrs. Little was an elementary teacher in the Dublin City School System for more than forty years. She was a dedicated member of the Saint Paul AME Church in Dublin. She dearly loved her church and was a very devoted member and served as a steward, a teacher in the Youth People’s Division, as the Sunday School pianist, a choir member, and as a member of the Women’s Missionary Society. Mrs. Little visited the sick and shut-in, always bringing that special pot of soup! She was a devoted servant of God until her health began to fail.

She was a member of many professional organizations including the Dublin-Laurens Association of Retired Educators, the Fort Valley Alumni Association, #45 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Emerald Business and Professional Women’s Club. Mrs. Little departed this life on April 6, 2019.
Mrs. Little was preceded in death by her husband, William Albert “Bill” Little, Sr., her son, William Albert “Billy” Little, Jr., her sisters, Mrs. Rachel Perry Jerry and Ms. Lucy Laney Perry, her brother, Dr. Daniel B. Perry, and by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Eula Little.

Mrs. Little is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Robert and Vickie Little, and grandsons, Preston and Robert, Jr., a sister, Irma P. Powe, all of Atlanta, Georgia, a niece, Gwendolyn Perry Walthour, of Dublin, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, caregivers, Gloria Issac and Shirley Coney, former co-workers, and many other devoted friends.
