Funeral services for Mr. Dolphus "Punch" Whitfield of Dublin will be on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 4:00 pm at the Living Faith Baptist Church, 1330 Bailey Lane in Dublin with Pastor Henry Channel, III, presiding and Reverend Cecil Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery in Dublin.

Mr. Whitfield was born on December 2, 1958, as the son of Pearline Whitfield and Eddie Lee Wright. He departed this life on Sunday, March 24, 2013.

"Punch", as he was affectionately known, was a member of New Generation under the leadership of Pastor Henry Channel, III, and attended mid-week service faithfully at Living Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Jamie T. Paulk.

Before his health declined, he worked at Griffin Industries and at YKK AP America.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearline Whitfield; father and stepmother, Eddie Lee and Rosa Mae Wright; and his mother-in-law, Pauline Holsey.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 14 years, Joyce H. Whitfield; step-children, Darlene Martin, Jesup, Eddie Holsey and Tina Holsey, both of Dublin; step-grandchildren, Sherika, Monique, Enyae, Destiny, Jacob, Saadiq, Senyavian, and JaNyla. He also leaves behind his father, Herman (Mae Ethel) White, Sr.; ten siblings: Jimmy Lewis (Janice) Whitfield, Herman "PeeWee" (Cindy) White, Jr., Sharday White, Essie Wright, Winnie Darrisaw, Ada Davis and Tbarscki "Tiki" (Latonya) Jackson all of Dublin; Rikita (Brian) White-Moten, Anniston, AL; Ossie Wright and Sandra (Gerald) Vaughn both of Atlanta; brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom McElroy of Canton, Ohio, Jacqueline Chatman of Jesup, Eddie Holsey, Jr. of Kansas, Gloria Ann (Gene) Hudson of Mt. Dora, Florida, Greg Holsey of Dublin, Charlene Holsey and Paul (Victoria) Holsey, both of Brunswick; aunts: Lucille Oliphant, Wrens, Evelyn Whitfield, Maggie Lee Whitfield, Patricia Whitfield, Mary Bell Demmons, Mabel Thomas and Gladys Wright, all of Dublin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and very special friends including Abby Smith, Derrick Stanley and Johnny Walker.

The family will receive friends at 204 Werden Road in Dublin.
