Funeral services for Mrs. Dollie Givens Wells, of Dudley, Georgia, will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 1 PM at the Christian Hope Baptist Church, 1792 Georgia Highway 26, Cochran. Bishop Otha Stanley will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

She was born as Dollie Givens on April 1, 1926, in Laurens County, Georgia, to the late Henry and Julia Givens. She was married to the late Willie Wells, and was a great mother, grandmother, and sister. She was employed by, and later retired from, Lord's Meat Market. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was a faithful member of the Faith Temple Church of God In Christ, until her health declined. Mother Wells was a true servant and a spiritual warrior. She was a dedicated community worker, had a big heart, and showed endless love for others. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working in her flower garden. Her infectious smile and sweet spirit will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have been loved by her. She was also preceded in death by her five siblings, Nellie Brown, Celia Givens, Walter Thomas, Henry Givens, and Frank Adams. Mrs. Wells passed away on April 10, 2018.

She leaves to cherish her memories ten children, Willie (Pam) Wells, Betty J. Wells of Elmira, New York, Katie (Willie B.) Johnson of Cochran, Robert (Charise) Wells of Atlanta, Clifton (Queenie) Wells, and Dollie Brown of Dudley, Marvin (Ruby) Wells of Sandersville, Freddie (Margaret) Wells, John (Jackie) Wells, Matressa (Norman) Payne, all of Dublin, one sister, Ruby Wells of Elmira, New York, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ella Ashley of Dudley, thirty grandchildren, numerous great, and great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
