Funeral services for Mr. Demetrius Terrell "Mete" Jones, of Dublin, will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the First African Baptist Church at 405 Telfair Street in Dublin. Overseer Elgin Dixon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kirland Cemetery in Midville.

Mr. Jones, who passed on July 22, 2014, was born on May 13, 1988, to Daphne Howard and Kenneth Jones. Mr. Jones was educated in the Dublin City Schools and graduated from Dublin High School in 2008. He worked for YKK, Inc., until he became ill. He was known for the fashions he wore -usually with a hat and shoes to match, along with that captivating smile. Mr. Jones lived a fruitful life and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Grace Ola Johnson. Mr. Jones is survived by his parents, Daphne and Michael Howard of Dublin; Kenneth Jones, I of Swainsboro; siblings – C. Donte’ (Tashena) Jones, Kenneth Leon Jones II, Ivan Akeem Jones, Prestia Marie Floyd, Preston Floyd all of Dublin; Kenyatta Natasha (Fred) Daughtry and Mack Kenneth Rackins of Swainsboro, grandparents, Jackie Johnson of Lexy, Helen (Jerry) Williams, Kirk Williams of Swainsboro, Mary Alice Prince of Dublin; nieces and nephews, Madison, Ivan II, Donte II, Kennedy and Uriah Jones, Devonte’ Vickers of Dublin; aunts and uncles – Reverend Greg C. (Carol) Johnson; Placida Means of Conyers, Theresa Phillips, Katrina Woods, Reggie (Karen) Jones, Terry (Shalondria) Jones, Michael Jones, Tim Jones, and Tori Jones – Swainsboro, Brian (Tisha) Howard of Newport News, Virginia; Patricia Howard, Peggy Howard, Woodrow Howard, Jr of Augusta; Mary Jane (Preston) Floyd; godparents – Stephanie and Lee McCloud; god siblings – Jay Kates, Shumara Carswell, Miracle Howard, Kristen Dixon and Alan Robinson; god aunts and uncles – Leslie Holmes, Valarie Edmond, Kerry L. The family will receive friends at 100 Childs Court in Dublin.
