Loved by many, we will dearly miss our loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who passed away on February 24, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.Dean was born on February 8, 1927, in Ogden, Utah the eldest of six children born to Kenneth & Ethel Bitton. He was so proud of his pioneer heritage. Upon graduating from Ogden High School in 1945, he enlisted in the United States Navy. When he returned, he was called to serve in the Southern States Mission. He attended Weber College where he met his lovely wife, LaRae Parker. He was sealed to his sweetheart of 62 years on November 17, 1950 in the Logan Temple. He retired from HAFB after 42 years. He had a great love of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church serving in many callings throughout his life in the Roy 3rd Ward. He enjoyed music, fishing, gardening, boating & camping with his large family. Family and friends were very important to Dad. He devoted much of his life to serving others in quiet and simple ways. His family will always remember his example of hard work, honesty, charity, and love. He had a delightful sense of humor. He always had a joke to tell or a kind word to lift another. He had a Frank Sinatra voice and shared this talent often and also sang with the Men of Song.He was preceded in death by his beautiful infant daughter Karren and his sister Nedra Massey (John). He is survived by his lovely wife, five daughters, two sons, two brothers, two sisters, 32 grandchildren and 27 great-grand children . His daughters RaeDean Bruce (Reggie), Brooke Russell (Terry), Krystyn Meyer (Taft), Kolette Belnap (Tim), Paula Gadzia (Chris), his sons Douglas Bitton (Ann) and Jeffery Bitton (Jenn), his brothers Val Bitton (Marilyn) and Steve Bitton, and sisters Darlene Farr (Vern) and Renee Harris (Parker).Funeral services will at 11:00am on Friday, March 1st at the Roy Municipal Park Ward, 5930 South 2200 West. Friends may visit family on Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West and Friday, 9:30-10:30am at the church prior to the service.Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
