Funeral services for Mother Daisy Lee Burnett, of Montrose, Georgia, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the Greater Union Grove Church of God in Christ, 4780 US Hwy West in Montrose. Reverend Phillip Jones will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Eason Hill Church Cemetery.
Mother Daisy Burnett was born on June 3, 1930, She was the daughter of the late Frank Goodwyne and the late Mary Lou Thomas Stephens. At an early age, she joined the Union Grove Church of God in Christ in Montrose where she remained a faithful member, and she was on the Ushers Board, until her health declined. She received her education from Eason Hill and Brown Hill Church public schools. Mother Burnett retired from Bassett Furniture Industries after 26 years. She was also a homemaker. She was married to the late Judge Burnett, and to this union, six children were born.
Mother Burnett passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Burnett, by her son, Kelly Burnett, and by her parents, Mary Lou Thomas Stephens and Frank Goodwyne.
Mother Burnett leaves to cherish her memories four daughters and one son, Hilda Burnett and Sharon Brown of Montrose, Sandra (Wilkee) Ashley of Dublin, Martha (Ferrell) Watkins, Carl (Jacqueline) Burnett of Montrose, grandchildren, Andrella Burnett, Christina (Aaron) Bolden, Shawanda Burnett, Antonio Mobley, Jr., Carvin (Chelsea) Burnett, Mark'Keyshia Brown, Johnny B. (Beonca) Smith, Sherritta Ashley, Breana (Tocorians) Sams, Markelly Burnett, Carl T. Coley, Lashundra Mays, Shandria Burnett, Clifford Burnett, twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawson (Mary) Burnett of Bonaire, Chargelon Burnett of Macon, Inez Hodges of Macon, Betty Mae (David) Hill of Miami, Florida, Katie Coley of Montrose, devoted cousins, Lavenia Holloway of Macon, Mary (Lester) Gee of New London, Connecticut, Bishop James Thomas, Jr., of Milledgeville, devoted life-long friends, Annie Burnett and Silas Stephens, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the Greater Union Grove Church Family.
