Clemmie Walker

Funeral services for Mrs. Clemmie Walker, of Macon, will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017, at 1 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin. Reverend David Flowers will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Clemmie Walker was born on May 24, 1937, to the late Mary Lee and James Wright, as the oldest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, James, Thomas, Horace, and Forest Wright, and one sister, Maxine Wright. Mrs. Walker attended Buckeye Elementary School, and graduated from Doc Kemp High School in Wrightsville, where she met the love of her life, the late Eclemus Rufus Walker. They were united in marriage for 57 years.

Mrs. Walker moved to Chicago, Illinois, in the 1960s, and joined the Corinthian Temple Church of God in Christ, and worked faithfully in the Womens Ministry, and was a great supporter of the church's special programs. Mrs. Walker worked and retired from the Chicago Association for Retarded Citizens (CARC) as a transport driver. She moved back to Macon in 2013, and joined the Center Hill Baptist Church. She passed away on May 17, 2017.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Pearlene, Maxine, and Nita Faye Wright, of Macon, three stepsons, Aaron (Tammy), Allen (Tameka), and Eric Royston, all of Chicago, Illinois, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 2183 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin.
