Clayton Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Clayton Jones, Sr., of Cadwell, Georgia, will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 1 PM, at the New Providence Baptist Church, 3127 Fountain Road in Cadwell. Pastor Edward Northcutt, pastor, will deliver the eulogy and Reverend Winfred McCloud will preside. Interment will follow in the New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born August 28, 1958, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Frank Jones, Sr., and Minnie Lee Coley-Jones. Clayton was born as a identical twin to brother Clifton. He was educated at Mary Fleming High School and graduated at West Laurens High School. While at West Laurens High School Clayton was an active participant on the football field. Shortly after graduation, Clayton attended Kansas Junior College where he continued his football career. He then attended Tulane University where he continued his playing of the sport. Mr. Jones was baptized at an early age at New Providence Baptist Church where he attended regularly at this time. Mr. Jones exhibited a strong work ethics that was instilled in him from parents. Mr. Jones passed away on January 1, 2019. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Anna, brothers, Tarron, Leon, Lynn, and sisters, Lois and Sandra.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Christina Jones of New Orleans, Louisiana, Leah (Corey)Jones- Millet of Lacombe, Louisiana, Clayton Jones, Jr., Afghanistan, his siblings, Jerman (Joan) Dixon of Atlanta, Georgia, Frank (Wanda) Jones, Jr., of Douglasville, Georgia, Freddie (Gloria) Jones of Jacksonville, Florida, Marilynn (Gerald) Hobbs of Fayetteville, Georgia, Angela Blue of Macon, sister-in-law, Georgia,Helen Jones of Dublin, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
