Funeral services for Mr. Claxton "Steve" Godfrey, of Dublin, will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 18, 2016, at the Wabash Church of God, 500 Telfair Street in Dublin. Reverend Reginald May will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Godfrey, who passed on April 13, 2016, was born October 25, 1952, as the son of the late Estelle Godfrey Sheffield. He attended Oconee High School and worked at Biljo's and PL Garment for many years.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Johnnie Bell Wilson.

He is survived by a son, Ricardos Godfey, Dublin; three grandchildren; Ramod, Ricari and Riciyah Godfrey; sister, Cynthia Ann (Jesse) Pooler, Atlanta, brothers, Richard (Monica) Sheffield and Curtis (Carolyn) Sheffield, both of Dublin; aunts, Juanita O'Neal, Thelma Godfrey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 208 Riverview Drive in Dublin.
