Clara Stanley
Funeral services for Ms. Clara O’Neal Stanley, 84, of Dublin, will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 1 PM at the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 494 Evergreen Road, Dublin. Reverend Winfred McCloud will officiate. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Church Cemetery.
Ms. Stanley was born on June 6, 1930, in Laurens County to Bob O’Neal and Josie Mae Parks O’Neal. She departed this life on Sunday, November 30, 2014. She was a faithful member of the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church up until the day the Lord decided to call her home. She was a woman who knew no strangers. Her love for life and people were transferred through her big hugs, contagious smile, and hard pats on the back. She was truly loved by everyone who came in contact with her. Ms. Stanley loved to take long walks around her neighborhood and tend her garden. She was definitely one of God’s angels who didn’t mind lending a helping hand. One of her favorite sayings was, “May the works I’ve done speak for me”.
Ms. Stanley was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings, Robert Bob O’Neal, Evelyn Green, George O’Neal, and Moses O’Neal; one granddaughter, Felicia M. Stanley; and two grandsons, Joshua O’Neal and Jeffery Stanley, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory four sons and two daughters, Edward (Susie) O’Neal of Blytheville, Arkansas, Clifford (Shirley) Stanley of East Dublin, Curtis (Louise) Stanley, Thelma (Robert) Taylor, Jeffrey (Tracey) Stanley, all of Dublin, and Angela (Marvin) Anderson of Rentz; one sister, Ms. Rubye O’Neal of Miami, Florida.; four brother-in-laws, Prentice (Mamie) Stanley of Dublin, Robert (Hazley) Stanley, Mobey (Lucindy) Stanley, and Wilke Stanley, all of Miami, Florida; one sister-in-law, Janie Stanley Gainey of Dublin; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Stanley will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Thelma (Robert) Taylor, 308 Outler Street, Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 6-7 PM.
