Funeral services for Mrs. Christine O'Neal Walden, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017, at 2 PM at the Green Grove Baptist Church, 2418 Highway 441 South in Dublin. Reverend Milton Hughes will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Walden who passed on February 2, 2017, was born on December 23, 1934, in Dublin. She was a native of Laurens County. She was the daughter of the late Mae and Green O'Neal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Walden, Sr., two sons, Ulysses Cooper, Jr. and Roscoe Walden, Jr., five sisters, Evelyn Howell, Para Lee Lindsey, Beaufort Wright, Mary F. Williams and Gwendolyn Jett, and by one brother, David Lee Seals.

Mrs. Walden retired from the shirt factory in Dublin and later became a nanny and home care provider who cared for many children in the neighborhood which referred to her as "Mama Christine". She was a member of the Green Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Senior Missionary Inspirational Choir.

Mrs. Walden is survived by eight daughters, Lena Cooper, Sandra Walden, Margret Walden, Sheila (Rex) Ellington, Annie Jean Walden, Barbara (Peter) Payne, Cynthia Johnson and Ellen Walden, one son, Ronald (Priscilla) Walden all of Dublin, daughter-in-law, Regina Cooper, North Carolina and a host of grandchildren which includes several that she raised in her home, Stephanie (Derrick) Stanley, Tracy (Willie) Linder, Jr., Ricardo Walden, all of Dublin, Devin Cooper, North Carolina, Shametria Myricks and Erica Cooper of Dublin, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, sister, Ernestine O'Neal, Maryland, brother, Andrew T. O'Neal, Sr., Maryland, sister-in-law, Sallie Walden, Savannah, several other relatives, friends and acquaintances to include a devoted friend, Celia Jones Family, two devoted goddaughters, Ann Lou Henry and Sandra Harper, and a devoted godsister, Bobby Jean James, all of Dublin.

The family is receiving friends at 700 Bell Drive in Dublin.
