Funeral services for Mr. Charles "Jim" Nelson of Dublin will be held on Wednesday, December 19, at 11:00 AM in the C.D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Reverend Charlie Robinson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway Southeast in Milledgeville. Mr. Charles Nelson was born February 15, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to Embria G. and Rosa Mae Gill. He attended Allen Temple A.M.E. Church and was baptized at an early age. He attended Northern High School and served in the United States Army where he received a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Arnetta Whitfield. Mr. Nelson leaves to cherish his daughter, Denia Addison; grandson, Jalen; granddaughters, Monet and Leshaye; great-grandson, David; and great granddaughter, Makiya of Detroit, MI; brothers, Emanuel (Connie) Belland of Columbus, MS, Gerald (Pamela) Nelson of Toledo, OH; sister, Janet Nelson of Las Vegas, NV; nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends who all cared for him greatly.
