Charles Brown

Funeral services for Reverend Charles Brown, Jr., of East Dublin, will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 1 PM at the Greater New Evergreen Baptist Church, 1599 US Highway 80 East in East Dublin. Reverend Michael Kirkland will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Reverend Brown, who passed on Saturday, March 18, 2017, was born on February 17, 1942 in Laurens County to the late Reverend Charles Brown Sr., and Sister Ludie P. Brown. He joined the Greater New Evergreen Baptist Church at an early age. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Clarence Hunter and Ruth Marian Brown Moore.

Reverend Brown leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Arlene Brown; six sons, Kenneth C. Brown, Dublin, Gregory (Linda) Brown, Augusta, Ricky (Valerie) Brown, Conyers, Chuck (Brenda) Smith, Dublin, Jumell (Angela) Brown, Macon, and Tyrell (Sharraise) Brown, Sandersville; daughter, Twana Brown Jackson, Macon; three stepdaughters, Leshon (Royina) Chamber, Atlanta, Nawanda (Jatavius) Hatcher, Dublin, and Tracy (Lerone) Gibson, Milledgeville; siblings Marjorie (William) Brazeal, East Dublin, Myrtle Brown, Jacksonville, North Carolina and Prentice Brown, Dublin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil Moore Sr., Adrian, Randy (Mary) Hatcher, Sandersville, Horace (Patricia) Hatcher, Sandersville, Cleveland (Gail) Hatcher, Kenneth (Earnestine) Hatcher and Laine (Gail) Mattis, Sandersville; mother-in-law, Vassie T. Hatcher; nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at 205 Celia Drive in East Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6-7 PM.
