Charles Bell
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Lee Bell. of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 11 AM at the Mount Tilla Baptist Church, 2424 US Hwy 441, Irwinton, Georgia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Kendrick Smith will officiate.
Mr. Charles Lee Bell, who passed on July 25, 2014, was born on December 3, 1919, to the late Della Bell Coats and Lewis Coats. He joined the Mount Tilla Baptist Church at an early age and he attended Laurens County Schools and Oconee High School. He served his country in World War II in India and as a recalled reservist during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Buffalo, New York, where he worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs for thirty years. He later retired and moved to Dublin.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary B. Cooper, Melonise Johnson, Robert L. Coates, and Andrew Bell.
Mr. leaves to mourn his memories a brother, Max Wallace of Buffalo, NY; a loving niece, Evelyn C. (Gus) Pittman of Dublin; nephews, Reverend Roger (Lucille) Cooper of Jefferson, Mitchel Lee Bell of Newark, New Jersey; two godchildren, Christine Stanley and Bobby Stanley of Buffalo, New York, and several cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Mount Tilla Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends at 642 Evergreen Road in Dublin.
