CHARLCY TAYLOR STANSBERRY Charlcy Aletha Taylor Stansberry passed away peacefully Saturday evening, November 10, 2012 in Eden, Texas. She had celebrated her 96th birthday one week earlier with her family and friends. Service for Charlcy is Tuesday afternoon, November 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eden Funeral Home. Burial in Eden Cemetery. Charlcy was born November 3, 1916 to Charles and Susanna (Jacobson) Taylor in Welview, Texas in the Brady Valley Community, where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Eden High School in 1934 and then attended Tarleton State University for a year. Charlcy married F.T. Stansberry of Eden on December 5, 1937. They ranched in Concho County, Texas until F.T.'s death in l976. She was a busy homemaker, wife, and mother, taking care of the home and their four children. Charlcy supported her children's many activities throughout the years, as well as those of her grandchildren. Charlcy was a faithful member of the Eden United Methodist Church, U.M.W, and a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her presence in the lives of her family, friends, and community will be greatly missed. Charlcy was preceded in death by her husband F.T. Stansberry, her parents Charles and Susanna Taylor, a son John Charles Stansberry, and a daughter Judy Clark. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Norban and W.J. Taylor, and a son-in-law Sam Brownlee. Survivors are son Robert Stansberry and wife Barbara of Eden, daughter Diane Brownlee of Menard, and son-in-law Gene Clark of Austin. Charlcy has 8 grandchildren: Gabe Stansberry of San Angelo, Kim Westbrook of Austin, Lara White of San Angelo, Julie Rainey of San Angelo, Jason Clark of Austin, Sharon Recio of Eden, Betsie Wall of San Angelo and John Richard Wall of San Angelo. She is also survived by l0 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and two nephews. We thank Cindy Gonzales and her family for the special care they gave Charlcy during the past year and a half. We appreciate the friendship and loyalty of Eva Ponce and Cristina Barba.
