Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Haynes Freshley, 100, of Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at 1 PM, at the graveside in the Carter Cemetery on Carter Cemetery Road in Wrightsville. Evangelist Janice Freshley Floyd will deliver the eulogy.

Mrs. Freshley was born on January 20, 1920, to Emma Haynes. She celebrated her 100th birthday this past January. She was a member of the Saint James CME Church in Lovett, Georgia, where she attended until her health failed. She was married to the late Donald Freshley, Sr. Her daughter, Brenda Wiggins, served as her caretaker. As the last survivor of her siblings, Mrs. Freshley passed away on June 7, 2020. She was preceded in death by three of her children, Lena Bostick, Hazel “Toni” Vickers, and Donald Freshley, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Janice (Samari) Floyd of Atlanta, and Brenda (Frank) Wiggins of Dublin, two sons, Willie Freshley and Earnest Freshley of Dublin, her cherished niece, Linda Carter Wells, her cousins, Herman White, Daniel White, and Gladys Coney, twenty grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 41 great-great-grandchildren. She, of course, outlived most of her friends.
