Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Brown of Dublin will be held at 1 PM on Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Howard Chapel United Methodist Church, 508 South Washington Street in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Holly Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Patricia Brown will deliver the eulogy.

Mrs. Brown was a devoted member of Howard Chapel United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities including vice president of the Usher Board, and as a member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. She retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dublin as a food service worker after serving twenty-five years.

Mrs. Brown was born in Laurens County as the daughter of the late Pauline B. Coney and the late Otha O’Neal. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Brown and by a devoted nephew, Bobby Brown.

She is survived by her two daughters, Gloria (George) Baker of Dublin, Fairy (Bobby) Deese of Burlington, New Jersey, and one stepson, Northern (Roselyn) Brown III, of Saint Charles, Louisiana, two devoted nieces, Carolyn Payne of Dublin, and Joanne (Ronald) Waller of Macon, two devoted cousins, Olivia Belcher of Atlanta, and Robert (Pearlie) Brown of Brunswick, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, a devoted friend, Clara Boyer of Dublin, and a host of other devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Gloria (and George) Baker, 158 Long Pines Circle in East Dublin.
