Casey Kasem

A radio legend, Casey Kasem has passed away June 15, 2014 this past Sunday morning. Casey’s voice was familiar to thousands as he had been a disc jockey on the radio since early 70’s. Casey’s daughter posted the news of his death on her Face book account.
Many of us can remember Saturday mornings listening to the “Top American 40” songs on the radio. Casey helped us get through our Saturday morning chores listening to the radio, or made life a little more pleasant as he hosted more than 1000 radio stations Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Casey was so loved by the people that he got his Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1981. He also entertained us as the voice of Shaggy in the popular cartoon “Scooby Doo!”
His talents included the voice over for many commercials and other TV characters. He won the “Radio Icon award” at the Radio Music Awards in 2003.
We will never forget Casey and his famous closing words of advice from each show he did on top 40, “Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.” He was 82 years old.
