Mrs. Carolyn McCarty, wife of Ossie McCarty passed away Monday, March 7th 2016.

Carolyn McCarty was born October 10th, 1941 in Montgomery Alabama to the late Frank and Edna Mitchell. Carolyn graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and later obtained her Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. She married Ossie McCarty and together they had three children, Nicolle, NaShawn and Naturo.

In addition, Carolyn was an amazing educator and was an elementary teacher in the Muskegon area for over 30 years. She was also an active member of Beulah Baptist Church and served her local community.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ossie McCarty; Two daughters Nicolle McCarty of Texas, NaShawn (Marcus) Hill of Mississippi; one son Naturo McCarty of Connecticut. She is also survived by her 5 brothers Sam (Alma), Frank (Carolyn), Anthony (Millie), Ken, Duane) and 2 sisters Deborah (Sam) and Renee (Michael), 1 grand-dog (Diva) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Frank Mitchell, mother Edna Mitchell and younger sister Janice Stewart.

Visitation service will be held at Toombs Funeral Home (2108 Peck St, Muskegon MI 49444) on March 11th, 2016 from the hours of 2pm-6pm.(Family hour will be from 5pm-6pm). Funeral Services for Mrs. Carolyn McCarty will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 12th 2016. Service location will be at Beulah Baptist Church where Sr. Associate Pastor Jerry Pearson and Pastor James Williams will officiate. Burial services will follow at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens (2188 Remembrance Dr., Muskegon, MI 49442).
