YORK – Mrs. Carolyn Leake Jackson Clinton, 83, of 862 East Old Limestone Road passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at her home in York.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with the Rev. Tom McPhail officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mrs. Clinton was the widow of W.G. Clinton and was the daughter of the late Howard and Zoe Leake.
She graduated from York High School in the class of 1957, the last class to graduate from what is now the McCelvey Center. Mrs. Clinton was retired from the South Carolina Department of Social Services after 23 years of service.
She was a member of Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church and had served as Elder and past Superintendant of Sunday School. She was a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class and Presbyterian Women.
Mrs. Clinton is survived by five sons, Richard Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Chris Jackson, Toby Jackson, and Robert Jackson, one step daughter Linda Ogle, ten grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several step grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clinton was preceded in death by her brother, John H. (Buddy) Leake Jr.
