Funeral services for Mrs. Callie Peck Williams, 97, of Danville, Georgia, will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 96 East, Jeffersonville, Georgia. Pastor Jamie Pittman will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Williams, who passed away on July 4, 2015, was born on July 21, 1917, in Danville, Georgia, to the late William and Grace Peck. She was educated in Wilkinson County where she attended The Providence School. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved husband of forty-three years, Mr. Herman Lee Williams, Sr. In this union, she was blessed with eleven devoted children; three of them, Franklin Williams, Herman Lee Williams, Jr. and Gilbert Williams, preceded her in death. Mrs. Williams took great joy in being a homemaker, an excellent cook and a master gardener. She enjoyed fishing and travelling. She also served as the family historian sharing stories and her legacy as the oldest living member, and reciting birthdays of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams leaves to cherish her memories five sons and three daughters: Obbie Lee (Dommie) Williams of Augusta, Vera (Tommy) Billups of Cincinnati, Ohio, Laura (Leroy) Strange of Toomsboro; Rosetta Woodruff of Danville, Ephriam (Mary) Williams, Sr, of Allentown, Nelson Williams of Danville, Danny (Betty) Williams of Macon, and Herbert (Marie) Williams of Irwinton, and one brother-in-law, Primus Simmons, Sr., of Danville. She also leaves twenty-six devoted grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her caregiver, Kim Butler.

The family is receiving friends at 56 Old Macon Road, Danville.
