Betty Sue Mitchell
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Sue Mitchell, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 2 PM at the Holly Spring Baptist Church, 705 Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Reverend Henry Davis, Sr., will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.
On June 23, 1945, Betty Sue Coney was born to the late Mr. Shine Coney, Sr., and Mrs. Susie Mae Wynn Coney. She attended the Millville High School. She was employed at Oxford Industries as a production worker for more than 25 years, and was employed at Valco for 5 years. She was a member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church during her younger years before she became a faithful member at Woodard Grove Baptist Church. As a resident of Dublinaire Healthcare Center, she passed away on October 5, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tony Jerome Stanley, grandson, Reante’ “Ody” Stanley, granddaughter, Za’toria Stanley, three brothers, Robert (Mary) Coney, Marvin Coney, Nathaniel Coney, one sister, Ida Pearl Gillis, stepson, Otis Wright, father and mother-in-law, Henry and Carrie Mitchell, sister-in-law, Viola Mitchell Coney, and by her brother-in-law, Joseph Bill Mitchell.
Mrs. Mitchell leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 45 years, Willie B. Mitchell, two daughters, Sarah Stanley of East Dublin, Jacqueline Stanley of Dublin, one son, William (Brenda) Stanley of Dublin, a granddaughter who she raised, Rhonda Wells, one brother, Shine (Essie) Coney, five stepsons, Michael Mitchell, Elvis Cleveland of Dublin, Willie (Shun) Mitchell of Warner Robins, Billy (Tanya) Wicker of Wrightsville, and Terry Mitchell of East Dublin, one stepdaughter, Cynthia (Charles) Thomas of Dublin, one daughter-in-law, Leslie Stanley, a devoted great grandson who she loved as her own, Gregory Wells of Dublin, a granddaughter, Sherrett Stanley that was her caregiver, five sisters-in-law, Carrie Wiggins, Cora Sims, Hattie Thomkins of Dublin, Bethenia Mitchell and Mary Mitchell of West Palm Beach, Florida, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
