YORK -- Betty Lou Head Brakefield, 77, of 2341 Wildwood Dr died Friday, November 22, 2013, at Carolina Specialty Hospital in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednedsay, November 27, 2013 at Bratton Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Sturgis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM on Wednesday at Bratton Funeral Home.
Betty was a daughter of the late Robert and Lillie Price Head. She was a member of Living By Faith Church.
She is survived by husband Melvin Brakefield of York, SC, daughters, Barbara Auten (Alan) of Shelby, NC, Terry Lamountain (Rick) of Grover, NC, Vicki Griffin of Earl, Tina Griffin Huffstetler (Wayne) of Hickory Grove, SC, step daughter Lisa Digiacobbe (Luigi) of Rock Hill, SC, sister Margie Beaver of Shelby, NC, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her children, Dennis Calvin Franklin, Debora Lynn Franklin, Carri Griffin Hartness, brothers, Jack Head, Bobby Head, Eddie Head, Vance Head, and sisters, Dorcas Clark, and Ruth Robbins.
